Congratulations, you're rich. That's the problem.

Capital Sin opens on Mr Rich Guy Maximus Profit asleep in bed, blissfully unaware that his net worth has become a spiritual liability. A portal rips open. An angel arrives to make him an offer — and a demon arrives right after to remind him there's no money in heaven. One garbled argument later he's tearing off his pajamas to reveal a suit, an intern is climbing out of the wardrobe, and the two of them are headed for the office.

From there it's simple: get to zero.

Ways to lose it all:

  • Stocks — Watch the market decide your fate. Sometimes you lose money. Sometimes, against all odds, you make more, which is deeply inconvenient.
  • ??? — Your intern has some notes about it.
  • Incinerator — No games, no odds, just bills falling into a fire. The fastest, most honest way to get poor on purpose.
  • ??? — There's a fourth button?! Your intern may have some more notes about it.

Every dollar burned ticks the money graph down and the calendar forward. The counter only goes one way, and you're the one holding the match.

Runtime: about 5 minutes, give or take how efficiently you can ruin yourself.

Built in 96 hours for the GMTK Game Jam 2026.

Art & Visual Design

  • All original pixel art, hand-drawn pixel by pixel in Aseprite. Every character, prop, scene, and animation built from scratch for this jam
  • Fully animated cast and environments, from the bedroom-to-office camera pan to the incinerator's falling bills and the casino's spinning roulette
  • A cohesive pixel-art world carried through every scene, from the intro cutscene to the office gameplay to the closing credits

Soundtrack & Sound Design

  • Original soundtrack of four distinct compositions built around a single core theme, blending organic textures with orchestral and jazz motifs, electronic production, and granular synthesis
  • Angelic and demonic variations of that theme, scored with different harmonic layers, so the same melody argues with itself across the intro.
  • Bespoke sound design for every core element — button presses, portal transitions, garbled dialogue audio, the casino roulette, and the incinerator burn
  • Cutscene audio scored to the choreographed beats of the animation
